Advanced Imaging of Cells in vitro and in vivo
Course (2 hp) May 21st - 25th 2018
This course is open for students who want to improve their knowledge in fluorescence light microscopy and be introduced to the latest version of the Imaris software for image analysis.The course consist of a mix of lectures and hands-on training, including preparation of tissue samples and introduction sessions at IFSU and IVMSU single- and multiphoton instruments. Invited lecturers are Mia Philipsson, Uppsala (multiphoton microscopy) and Christian Eggelin, Oxford (STED).

Symposium (1 hp) May 25th - 27th, 2018
The symposium starts in the afternoon, Friday May 25th and is organized under the auspices of the Swedish National Microscopy Infrastructure (NMI). The theme of the symposia is the same as the course with a range of internationally renowned scientists on the speaker list. Course students are welcome to sign in for this event (equal to 1 hp). However, since the number of participants on the symposium is limited, this possibility is only open for students that have followed the complete course. The symposium is free of charge. Those that have registered for the Symposium but will not be able to attend need to notify the organizers at least 2 weeks in advance, otherwise they will be marked as “no-show” and charged 800 SEK for catering and administration.
During the symposium there will be a poster session and student that wish to show posters are welcome to register their abstract. This symposium will be a unique opportunity to learn about recent achievements concerning imaging of cells and cellular processes from world leading experts in fields such as cancer biology, immunology, parasite infection and cell migration.
